FAQ:

Q: I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, B.A. in Childhood Studies, B.A. Family and Child Development, B.A. Leadership in Early Childhood Education and similar degrees that have a focus on family and child development. Can these be recognized as an equivalent to a Resource Consulting/Resource Teacher certificate?

A: You can apply to the college that offers the Resource Consulting program and request for a Transfer Credit. Transfer Credit applications are evaluated on a case by case basis through the College’s Degree and Credit Transfer office. Evaluation of transfer credit applications are based on:

1. Level of prior credential
2. Whether the subject matter/learning outcomes for the prior course match the learning outcomes of the current course
3. Depends on whether the student earned a C or higher in their prior coursework Colleges have a 25% residency requirement for all college programs so if a transfer credit is approved, an applicant for the Resource Consulting certificate would still have to take a minimum 25% of courses to obtained their Resource Consultant certificate from that College.
